Thx HuffPost: “Local Papers: Obama Dominating Ground Game” John McCain once famously proclaimed that the media was his “base,” and as last week’s W&W guest and Straight Talk Express veteran, Seattle PI cartoonist David Horsey, pointed out: Many members of the media have long relationships with and like McCain better than Obama. This scenario isn’t [...]
There was a lot of talk about “playing the race card” today, which is a phrase I’ve always found particularly irritating. It is all too often used as buzz-word kill when someone is trying to have a legitimate conversation about inequality, which is exactly what Barack Obama was doing when he said this to a [...]
Ted brought this strange video to my attention this morning before we recorded Wilshire & Washington. I promise I’m doing something more interesting on Saturday night than reading Daily Kos (well, I’m about to …) but check out BO’s address at Netroots Nation.
I enjoyed this post by Andy Sparrow, Teresa’s fellow blogger at TeresaCentric, about how comedians will have limited material to work with if Obama is president. I’m sure Jay Leno has a backlog of Bill Clinton jokes to last through the next 8 years, but I suppose that will be Conan’s problem now. Affirmative re: [...]
Jim Webb insists he’s not doing it . If not Jim, then I like Edwards or the governor of Montana. If you’re not familiar with Brian Schweitzer, check out his bio here . Whenever I see him on TV or read about his energy initiatives I’m thoroughly impressed. And, of course, on some level I’m [...]
