My recent absence (beyond traveling from Manhattan to Chicago to San Diego to Los Angeles since Thursday morning) is because … DRUMROLL … after two years in the trenches, Romi, Ralph, Lauren, Meghan and I are proud to announce our new and improved confessional.
As a former print journalist, it’s been quite an adventure learning how to be a techie. The process has entailed countless late nights googling html code, endless tech conferences, SEO training, twittering, Media Temple crashes, meticulous blog outreach emails and perplexing phone calls with my beloved programmer, Tamas, wondering if he was speaking another language. I’m pleased, however, that having had no clue what a microblog was at one point, that I’m now a proud proprietor of one.
I am even more proud of Romi, who has been an amazing colleague-sister-mother-best gal pal for me since the day she hired me at The Huffington Post. With admirable savvy and scrapiness she has found a way to do what she does best: Comfort and encourage women when they need a boost. truuconfessions.com is the online translation of her caring, candid personality and inspiring heart. We girls who have thrived under her dedicated vision (Jill, Megan, Brie, Lauren) can say - with a resounding metoo from our community - that confessing has brought out the boldest in us, and that when we accept the real (not the ideal!) we are able to realize our dreams.
